Hot-plug and hot-swap supports easy maintenance and allow to upgrade a system during operation. If your needs for service density grows, the system can be easily enhanced and extended. All service cards as well as the aggregation cards are designed for standalone operation without control of a central processor. To reach this independency each card is equipped with a local CPU for control and operation. In order to avoid influencing other services in case of a hardware component failure all data paths are realized by point-to-point connections. The Falcon AF-1 can be used in air-conditioned racks and cabinets.
