The Eagle AE-1 is a MPEG network adapter with advanced feature set, including protection switching, stream analyzers, and optional interworking between different network technologies.
To ensure high availability the Eagle AE-1 comes with redundant PSUs (AC/AC, AC/DC, or DC/DC) and redundant external mounted long-life fans. In its basic configuration it provides 8 ASI channels, user-configurable as input or output,
two 1GE interfaces (redundant or individual use), 8 MPEG-TS switches and MPEG-TS analyzers. The Eagle AE-1 supports VLAN, including GVRP (Generic VLAN Registration Protocol) and GMRP (Generic Multicast Registration Protocol). Unicast as well as Multicast (with IGMPv3) are supported. The MPEG-TS can be mapped to IP using UDP or RTP. For the correction of IP packet loss Pro-MPEG CoP3 FEC (only in combination with RTP) can be configured. The transparent handling of the MPEG-TS and the superior clock recovery enable operation in SFN applications, like DVB-T/T2.
To interface with other network technologies like SDH and PDH additional hardware modules are available, also allowing for inter-working and data conversion between the different networks.
Full support of SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 enables the smooth integration into existing network management systems. The integrated Web- Server provides a user-friendly user-interface accessible through any Web-Browser. Strictly developed according to ITU-T, DVB, ETSI and all other relevant standards, the Eagle AE-1 provides the highest level of interoperability with compression as well as network technologies.
